Meg together with her twin siblings Sandy and Dennys travel across a wonderful world filled up with immortal beings, aliens along with other individuals. The book carries a powerful message of love and family and should not be skipped. Sarah, Plain, and Tall This really is another classic that deals with isolation and abandonment. The novel is set in Kansas throughout the late 19th century.
Jacob Witting, a widowed farmer who is still upset by the untimely passing away of his wife is left on his own with the task of taking care of his farm and two children, Anna and Caleb. He writes an ad in the newspaper for a mail-order bride. Sarah answers his ad and travels to turn out to be his better half. It’s a very deep book and a great read for children.
Charlotte’s Web Another award-winning book by writer E.B. White, about a pig named Wilbur who is saved from the slaughterhouse by a really smart spider named Charlotte. The story should be familiar to everybody who grew up in America. It appears like every class study it or at least saw the movie! A very clever and heartfelt read for kids. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe A novel that inspired the creation of a litany of other books in the exact same genre.
C.S. Lewis’ magic tale of 4 children who follow the lion Aslan into the magic wardrobe and are transmitted to the land of Narnia. It is a fantastic read and won numerous prizes in its time. If your children are interested in novels this may the one for them.
